Decanal Search Committee (2024–2025)

I was selected to serve on the university-wide Search Committee tasked with identifying the next Dean of the Cathy Hughes School of Communications. The process spanned multiple rounds, as the initial search failed to yield a final candidate. In both phases, I reviewed application materials, participated in interviews, and engaged in deliberations with faculty, staff, and university leadership. I brought a perspective rooted in pedagogy, equity, and student experience—centering the long-term vision and community values of the School.

CHSOC Building Committee (2022)

I served on the CHSOC Building Committee during a transitional period as the school evaluated physical space use and future infrastructure needs. I provided feedback on classroom configurations, broadcast and digital media lab improvements, and student gathering spaces. My input centered student experience, accessibility, and the integration of teaching technology. The committee’s work informed decisions about renovations, relocations, and long-term planning.

Co-Director, Howard Multicultural Media Academy Journalism Workshop (2021–2022)

I co-directed the Howard Multicultural Media Academy for two consecutive summers. The program is a journalism-intensive workshop designed for high school students from underrepresented backgrounds. I developed the curriculum, recruited faculty instructors, and mentored students through real-world reporting assignments. I also coordinated guest talks with working journalists and supervised the production of student news packages, helping young storytellers gain confidence and exposure to college-level media education.
